  This intimate church was founded by my great-great-grandparents Joseph and Charity (Damuth) Luff, among others. Joseph had a shipyard in the 1860's with Ferdinand Morrell and may have helped construct the church. His two oldest sons Lucius and Edwin Luff were master ship carpenters and may also have taken part in the construction.
